Corns
Corns are caused by an infection of the wart virus.
Symptoms
Corns are found on the footpads and are characterized as a hard circular spot. They are very painful since they extend deep into the pad. Primarily this condition seems to be affecting mostly greyhounds.
Treatment
There are several options to dealing with corns:
- filing the corn to temporarily relieve some of the pressure
- applying a human corn softener.
- cushioning the pad with a Therapaw Boot.
- laser or surgical removal. The corn can come back or may resolve permanently.
