Ear Mites
Ear Mites are small parasites that infest the ear canals causing severe itching. Mites are transferred from one pet to another through contact.
Symptoms
The affected ears usually have brown or black crusty debris in the ear canals and sometimes the skin around the ears are crusty, red and scaly.

Treatment
Your veterinarian can prescribe a medication that can be applied into the ear canal or may administer a medication by injection. All infested animals and in-contact animals need to be treated. The pet’s beds and blankets need to be washed in hot soapy water.
